An upgraded version of the Silver Doe [link]

And, as usual, I prefer the original one. =P Now that I actually took a look at the one done in 2007 I just keep noticing faults in this one... Ngaah... I may have to work on this a bit more.

Who am I kidding? I always say that and I never return to "finished" pieces. :D

Anywho, Severus Snape from Harry Potter. (c) JK Rowling.

I like them both, but the watermark completely wrecks the first, muddying up the stark black-and-white contrast. It only messes up the second picture, because it's smaller and it fades somewhat into the grey-and-white doe. I'd make both of them favorites if it weren't for the watermark, though of course I understand why you use it to protect your work.

There is, unfortunately, truth in your words. I myself am sometimes annoyed by the watermark when the picture is dark - it stands out and draws attention away from the picture. In those cases I usually paste the link to my dA gallery on the drawing (not sure if it's any better). I'm not too much bothered by the mark with these two drawings, though, and they're getting a bit outdated in my book, anyway. If ever I make a redraw of the redraw, I'll pay attention to how the watermark fits, or more likely, doesn't fit in.

My art got stolen once (that I know of), and ever since I've been rather cautious with these things, even if I feel my art suffers from all the watermarking. At least no one else wants it either.

But anyway, thank you for your comment!

I dunno, I like this one better. There's more detail, and more expression. I love it!

Oh? Thanks! :aww:

I like the this newer version better, actually. The depth of colouring in the background is much greater here, and Snape's face looks a lot better, as does the conjured doe. Also the pose is a lot less static. In every way, this picture shows much more skill than the previous one.

Thanks, that's very nice to hear, of course. :)

I'm happier with the face and the doe in this new picture, too - I think the doe looks more like a doe now instead of a dog, as someone pointed out ("the silver dobermann" :D). But I don't know, I just think this lacks something and I don't know exactly what. Oh well.

The silver dobermann  :XD:
Well, I understand the feeling that there's something missing, something that could have made the piece really epic, but all I can say is that I think this picture is a great improvement on the previous one. :)

Are you willing to killing me when I am saying, -I like the older version more...???? :sprint:

Oh, don´t get me wrong, this here, ist beautiful...but... I guess I am just missing here the shining light in the patronus... :spotlight-left:

No hard feelings.... :forgiveme:

No hard feelings at all, I like the older one better, too. :D I mean this one's OK, but the first one I think is better somehow. Maybe it's indeed the shinyness... :aww:
